New Decathlon Riverside ETR 500 mid-range e-bikes arrive
Decathlon has unveiled two new e-bikes in its Riverside range, the ETR 500 Active+ 500 Wh Men’s and Women’s models. The electric bicycles are currently only available in Germany, as is the case for other recent launches in the Riverside range, such as the ETR920 SUV trekking and EC900 City Nexus e-bikes.
As its name suggests, the ETR 500 is powered by a Bosch Active Line Plus 250 W 50 Nm motor, offering four driving modes. The accompanying 500 Wh PowerPack battery is said to provide up to 100 km (~60 miles) range, and an Intuvia display shows data like your speed and remaining battery level. Other features include an SR Suntour SF15 Nex suspension fork with 63 mm travel, a Shimano Deore 10-speed RD-T6000 SGS derailleur and Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes.
The differences between the Men’s and Women’s models are with the frames and saddles. The Women’s bike has a black step-through frame with pink accents, available in sizes from S to L, with a wider saddle. The Men’s bike is also black, this time a step-over style with blue accents, offered in three sizes from M to XL. To give an idea of the weight, the size M men’s model clocks in at 26.4 kg (~58.2 lbs). The Decathlon Riverside ETR 500 Active+ 500 Wh Men’s and Women’s e-bikes will retail for €2,699 in Germany, though they are currently out of stock online. Whether the models will go on sale in other countries later remains to be seen.
