Heybike Hero full-suspension e-bike with carbon frame now crowdfunding
The Heybike Hero e-bike is now crowdfunding at Indiegogo. The all-terrain model was teased earlier this year and is offered in two variants: the Hero 750W Mid-Drive e-bike and the Hero 1000W Rear Hub e-bike. The 750W motor has up to 160Nm torque, while the 1000W version’s torque peaks at 100Nm.
The Hero has five speed modes, topping out at 35 mph (~56 kph), and an 864Wh lithium-ion battery for up to 60 miles (~96 km) range. The power pack fully recharges in four to five hours, and a BMS helps protect against issues like overheating and overcharging. The e-bike has a T800 carbon fiber frame weighing 2.8 kg (~6.2 lbs) with a ten years warranty; overall, the model weighs around 34 kg (~75 lbs). A full-suspension system and shock-absorbing saddle make your ride more comfortable, and 26 x 4-in fat tires provide grip. Other features include a Shimano 9-speed gear shift system, hydraulic disc brakes and headlights.
Between the handlebars is a built-in display for real-time journey information, which can also be viewed in the accompanying app. Customers can choose between step-through and trapeze frames in Tangerine, Lime Yellow, and the special edition Wave colorways. Indiegogo crowdfunding Super Early Bird pledges are still available for the 750W and 1,000W versions of the Heybike Hero, priced at $2,699 and $2,399, respectively. These customers will get around 46% off the RRPs of $4,999 and $4,599. The company is delivering the e-bikes worldwide, with shipping estimated for June 2024. As with any crowdfunding campaign, receipt of the item is not guaranteed.
