Google brings new features and improvements to its smartwatches with latest updates
Google has brought new features to the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 with their latest round of updates. Initially, TWD9.240405.001 was only believed to bring the pair up to the latest set of Android security patch updates. For reference, while Google does not list what Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) are present in TWD9.240405.001, more details can be found on its latest Pixel Watch Security Bulletin.
Subsequently, Google confirmed that this month's update its two new features, one of which it describes as 'Vibration Watch'. As the screenshot below shows, this feature allows a Pixel Watch or Pixel Watch 2 to provide the current time as vibrations. Google continues:
When the screen is on, tap the watch face with 2 fingers to check the time: single tap for the hour, double tap for the minute.
Additionally, Vibration Watch includes two vibration types as well as five vibration speed options ranging from 'Very slow' to 'Very fast'. Meanwhile, TWD9.240405.001 should also improvement auto-brightness by providing a visual representation of the 'difference when switching levels' when on the auto-brightness settings screen.
