Engwe's latest release seems identical to the pre-existing EP-2 Pro as found on Amazon - except that it is rated to apply 55 newton-meters (Nm) of "instant" torque to defeating an uphill climb at the touch of its new Boost button.
The step-over, foldable e-bike also has larger (180 millimeter (mm)) front and rear disk brakes compared to those of its predecessor - although it still has the same 624 watt-hour (Wh, or 48V/13A) battery rated to yield up to 120 kilometers (km, or ~75 miles) of range (albeit in PAS 1 mode only) per charge.
The EP-2 Boost also still has 7-speed Shimano gears and is restricted to 250W of motorized output in Europe, where it has the same €999 starting price as the EP-2 Pro, in the same choices of orange, gray or black.
Engwe has unleashed it as the latest member of the "Boost family" (alongside the L20 3.0 Boost - stay tuned for our upcoming review), as part of an event marked by the offer of a free rear rack (which could help leverage the new EP-2 variant's up-to-150 kilogram (kg, or ~331lb) load capacity) and fenders with every purchase.
The "Boost family celebration" also affords the chance to enter a competition to win one of 15 e-bikes, 5 of which also come with a 7-day trip to China alongside some YouTube influencers.
The event and its offers are in effect from today (June 3, 2025) until June 30 of this year.
