Engwe recently launched the M1 Dual Passenger Motorcycle-style E-bike in Europe. There is an EU Version with a single battery, offering up to 90 km (~56 miles range). Meanwhile, the International Version, with dual batteries for 1,373Wh capacity, is said to provide assistance for up to 170 km (106 miles).
A promotional video (below) indicates that the top assistance range is 230 km (~143 miles), though it is unclear how this is calculated. Both versions of the all-terrain M1 have a 250W 65Nm hub motor and are said to have a top speed of 25kph (~16 mph). Your ride is made more comfortable with front and rear suspension, and 20 x 4.0 inches fat tires provide grip.
An LCD color display shows your current speed and the remaining battery level. Other features of the seven-speed electric bicycle include Shimano gears, 160mm hydraulic disc brakes and a dual seat. Plus, there are accessories like a headlight, rear light and turn signals. The model has a 6061 aluminum frame, with the single battery version weighing 39.5 kg (~87.1 lbs), and the dual weighing 43.0 kg (~94.8 lbs).
The Engwe M1 e-bikes are sold at the brand’s European online store. The Single Battery version is currently priced at €1,049, €250 off the €1,299 RRP, while the Dual Batteries variant is available for €1,249, a €250 discount on the €1,499 RRP. Customers can choose between a yellow or black frame. It is unclear whether or when this international model will reach other markets.
