The Car.los V1, a new foldable electric cargo bike, has been launched in Germany. This is the latest model from the brand, with two versions: the V1 Basic and the V1 Full. The only difference between the two is that the latter comes with the Car.los Vario collapsible basket, which can transport loads up to 65 kg (~143 lbs). Including the driver, the total permissible weight is 195 kg (~430 lbs).
The V1 is powered by a Brose Drive T motor, presumably with the top speed capped at 25 kph (~16 mph). This is accompanied by a 552Wh battery; the company does not provide an estimated assistance range. Other features include an Enviolo N380 cargo stepless transmission, Magura MT-5 hydraulic disc brakes, and Schwalbe Pick-Up tires, 16-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear. Accessories include a 1.5-inch TFT color display and an 80 Lux headlight.
The model has a 6061 aluminum frame weighing 34 kg (~75 lbs), which can fold to make it easier to store or transport. The e-bike measures 2,010 x 650 x 1,150 mm (~79.1 x 25.6 x 45.3) when unfolded and 1,080 x 440 x 830 mm (~42.5 x 17.3 x 32.7) when folded. You can now buy the Car.los V1 basic electric cargo bike for €4,799 (~$5,042). Meanwhile, the Car.los V1 Full retails for €5,199 (~$5,462). It is unclear whether or when the company will begin to sell this electric bicycle in other countries.
