A new e-bike from Cube vies for the attention of customers. The bike comes with a more precise electric motor along with a CVT and forgoes a classic chain for transmission.

The Cube Kathmandu Hybrid Comfort Pro 800 2025 has debuted on the market. This e-bike can be ordered with a classic diamond frame or as a step-through model. Several frame sizes and color options are available, though full availability across all configurations seems limited at this time. Priced at €3,799, this is a premium e-bike, though more affordable options with simpler components exist in the same category.

Unlike traditional chain-driven bikes, the Cube Kathmandu Hybrid Comfort Pro 800 uses a Gates belt drive for power transmission. The bike is equipped with a continuously variable hub gear system from Enviolo, providing smooth shifting within a limited gear range. This setup enhances reliability and requires less maintenance compared to conventional drivetrain systems. At the heart of the e-bike is the Bosch Performance Line CX Smart mid-drive motor (5th generation), delivering a robust 85-Nm of torque for powerful assistance on climbs or during acceleration. A built-in 800-Wh battery ensures significantly extended range. This means fewer charging stops for urban commuters and extended energy availability during longer rides or tours.

The bike is designed for comfort even offroad, featuring a suspension fork with 100 mm of travel and a suspension seat post to smooth out uneven terrain. Weighing around 63 lbs (28.5 kg), it comes fully equipped with fenders, integrated lighting, a rear rack, and a kickstand. For stopping power, the bike uses hydraulic brakes with 180-mm rotors on both the front and rear wheels.
