Black Friday Deal | Super73 delivers $400 off 2 stylish dual-purpose e-bikes in Cyber Week sale
Super73's range of electric bicycles offer a stylish, zippy way to get around, especially in the city, where it can often be challenging to manoeuvre a car. As an alternative to Black Friday, Super73's Cyber Week sale has discounted a handful of models by $400.
Super73 S2-SE — $2,895 ($400 off)
The Super73 S2-SE is a street-oriented e-bike with a semi-retro design and specs fit for a daily commuter. It features a 750 W nominal hub motor with a peak power output of 1,200 W. It has both a thumb throttle and a pedal-assist mode, and the four modes offer a way to prioritise range or speed on the fly. Super73 quotes a top speed of over 28 mph (ca. 45 km/h) in Class 3 and Off-Road modes.
As for range, the S2-SE comes with a 720 Wh, 48 V, 15 Ah battery that charges in around five hours and should deliver 35 miles (ca. 56 km) of range on a single charge in Class 2 throttle-only mode. That would obviously be significantly longer in pedal-assist mode and likely much shorter in the higher-power throttle-only mode.
The S2-SE is available for $2,895 in both Panthro Blue — a blue-grey frame and a tan seat — and Sandstorm, which is primarily dark grey and black with tan accents on the frame. The S2-SE is a hard tail design, meaning it only has front suspension, but it also has hydraulic disc brakes, 20-inch wheels, and an aluminium frame, making for a 71 lbs e-bike with a 31-inch seat height.
Super73-R Adventure Core — $3,595 ($400 off)
The Super73-R Adventure Core is the entry-level model in the R Adventure series, Super73's dual-purpose offering, which means it ups the ante with front and rear suspension, making it both more capable off-road and more comfortable on bumpy roads. The R Adventure Core also comes with Super73's 750 W rear hub motor with a peak power output of 1,200 W, meaning it has the same top speeds and mode options as the Super73 S2-SE mentioned above.
The Super73-R Adventure, however, also steps things up with a bigger 960 Wh, 48 V, 20 Ah battery, giving it a theoretical range of up to 55 miles (ca. 89 km) on a charge, with Super73 claiming around 40 miles (ca. 64 km) at 20 mph (ca. 32 km/h) in Class 2, throttle-only operation.
The off-road intentions of the R Adventure Core are on full display with the bike's aesthetics, too. It is only available in the Sandstorm colour way, although the front light, seat, and mud guards have a much more aggressive design.
Either of these options would be a worthwhile choice for someone looking to replace their daily work commute with something more environmentally friendly without giving up on unique styling. They're also helpful if you want alternative transport without arriving at work drenched in sweat from riding a low-power e-bike or traditional bicycle.
