The Home Assistant smartphone apps for iOS and Android were recently updated. These releases follow the wider 2025.5 Home Assistant update, which was announced at the start of May.
The release notes for the Home Assistant app version 2025.5 for iOS state that the onboarding process has been improved. Unfortunately, no further details to explain exactly where users may experience these benefits have been provided.
For Android users, Home Assistant version 2025.5.3 has been released. The associated change log for this app is far longer than that of the iOS app. Highlights include the addition of six new Health Connect sensors, allowing you to link health and fitness data from other apps. There is a new Glance widget, and the to-do widget has been enhanced. Plus, users can now use WebSocketCore to isolate some logic for the WebSocket API.
There are also a couple of bug fixes and a wide range of other updates. You can find the full Android app release notes on GitHub. The Home Assistant app version 2025.5 is available to download at the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
