North America-based e-bike manufacturer Lectric has launched its next-generation XP4 e-bike in the US. The brand’s new e-bike brings significant upgrades over the last-generation model in terms of build, performance, and safety features. This time around, Lectric has introduced two versions of the XP4 e-bike: the base 500 W model and the high-end 750 W model.
As far as the maximum speed is concerned, the Lectric XP4 750 W variant has 1310 W of peak output and up to 85 Nm torque, providing a top speed of up to 28 mph (45 kph) and five riding modes: Eco, Tour, Sport, Sport+, and Turbo. While the base variant features a 500 W rear hub motor with 1092 W of peak output and up to 55 Nm torque, offering the same top speed and riding modes as the high-end variant.
At the core of the 750 W motor version is an 840 Wh detachable lithium-ion battery, which is expected to provide up to 85 miles (136.7 km) of range on a single charge. The base variant features a slightly lower 499 Wh battery, which allows you to ride for up to 55 miles (80.4 km). Apart from that, both models feature the same UL2849-certified sturdy 6000 series aluminum frame, which weighs around 61 lbs (27.6 kg) and can handle payloads of up to 330 lbs (149.6 kg). Plus, the e-bike comes with a folding design, meaning you can easily store it in a compact space. You can even remove the pedals and seatpost for easy transport.
Dimension-wise, both models have the same dimensions, measuring 66 x 18.5 x 47 inches (1676.4 x 469.9 x 1193.8 mm). Another major upgrade is Shimano’s 8-speed Altus drivetrain, up from the 7-speed of the last generation. Lectric packs 20” x 3” puncture-resistant tires with new 602 hydraulic brakes paired with 180 mm rotors. In addition to the above specs, the XP4 e-bike also features a detachable color TFT display that offers useful information such as battery level, trip, speed, active mode, and more. Unfortunately, the e-bike lacks Apple Find My integration.
Available in grey, pine green, white, and blue colorways, the Lectric XP4 750 W and 500 W motor versions are priced at $1,299 and $999, respectively. Both models are currently available for preorder via Lectric’s official website, with shipping to begin on 26th May.
