Two new NIU e-scooters are now available in Europe, the KQi 200P and the KQi 200F. These electric scooters have already been launched in the US. There is only one difference between the two models: the 200P features a fixed handlebar that measures 21.3 inches (~54.1 cm) across, while the 200F has a folding handlebar which measures 23.9 inches (~60.7 cm) across.
These NIU KQi 200 series e-scooters are powered by a 350 W 22 Nm motor with 700 W peak power. It has a maximum speed of 25 kph (~16 mph) in most European countries, four riding modes, and can tackle inclines of up to 20%. The accompanying 365 Wh battery is said to provide up to 54 km (~34 miles) range, and there is a charging limit feature to prolong the battery life. To make your ride more comfortable, there is front dual-tube spring suspension and 254 x 58 mm (~10.0 x 2.3 inches) tubeless pneumatic tires for extra shock absorption.
These e-scooters have a dual braking system, with a front drum brake and a rear regenerative brake; NIU suggests that these provide an under 4.3 m (~14.1 ft) stopping distance. Accessories include headlights, brake lights and turn signals. Plus, you can adjust various settings in the NIU smart app thanks to Bluetooth connectivity. Here, you can remotely lock your scooter, control your speed and acceleration settings and set the battery charging limit.
The NIU KQi 200P and 200F e-scooters will retail in Europe for €499 and €549, respectively. Customers are currently offered a €50 discount when they pre-order the electric scooters, with the release in this market scheduled for June 15th.
