Crafted by Ponomarets Bikes, the Eidolon is a premium lightweight e-bike with a number of customisation options, including a wireless drivetrain. For instance, customers can choose between the SRAM Red AXS electronic derailleur and the Ingrid RD1 mechanical derailleur, both paired with a 12-speed SRAM cassette. Every Eidolon model is equipped with a Mahle X20 rear hub drive motor that can generate 250 watts of power and 55 Nm of torque, offering a top speed of 25 km/h (approx. 15.5 mph). The Mahle motor can also connect to an iOS or Android app. As with many e-bikes in this weight class, the 236 Wh battery is integrated into the frame. Ponomarets Bikes claims the battery can provide a range of up to 100 km, but this figure should be considered the best-case scenario.
The bike ships with a Supernova headlight and taillight but doesn’t come with any mudguards or pannier racks. Much like the bike itself, the carbon frame is made in Germany. Weighing just 9.9 kg (21.8 lb), the Eidolon can be considered very lightweight for an e-bike. Somewhat surprisingly, the company has opted to create a braking system specifically for the bike, though it was developed in collaboration with 612 Parts and Voyager. However, it should comes as no surprise that the system utilises disc brakes. The Eidolon will set you back a hefty €12,600 (approx. $13,659), excluding taxes and shipping.
