Decathlon launches new 29-inch hardtail e-bike for €1,700

The Decathlon Stilus Off Road 29-inch hardtail e-bike has been released in a couple of European countries. This semi-rigid model is designed for riders looking to get into mountain biking.

The Stilus Off Road electric bike is powered by a mid-mounted 410W Star Union CM2502 motor with up to 110Nm torque. The e-bike is also fitted with a 504Wh battery, allowing you to ride with assistance at speeds up to 25 kph for up to 70km, though this estimate is for rides “with little incline”. At the front is a Suntour XCM32 fork with up to 120mm travel, and 29 x 2.4-inch CST Patrol tires also provide cushioning. 

Other features of the 9-speed model include a Microshift Advent RD-M619M rear derailleur and Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes. Plus, there is a Star Union TRT color display, where riders can select from five assistance modes or a Pedestrian mode to help them to push the e-bike as they walk. This model is available in three sizes, S, ML and XL, weighing between 22.4 and 22.8 kg. The aluminum frame has a light gray finish, and accessories include a bell and spoke reflectors.

You can now buy the Decathlon Stilus Off Road 29-inch hardtail e-bike in Italy for €1,689.99 and in Germany for €1,699.99. It remains to be seen whether or when the model could launch in other European countries.
