Decathlon is working on two new Btwin e-scooters for the European market. The Btwin SD500e and MD500e entry-level scooters were launched in this region last September. A recent customer survey has revealed images of two upcoming e-scooters under the Btwin brand, as reported by Cleanrider. In the same survey, details of new Btwin midtail and longtail e-bikes also leaked.
The images of the unreleased Btwin e-scooters reveal that they have dual-spring shock absorbers at the front, and it seems that there is further suspension at the rear. According to the report, these two scooters will have 10-inch tires, like their predecessors, but are powered by a rear motor. The motor’s power has yet to be revealed, though the maximum assistance speed will likely be capped at 25 kph (~16 mph). Another unknown is the battery capacity and range estimate.
Accessories like a curved handlebar with integrated indicator lights, as well as lights at the front and rear, are shown. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether or not these models will offer a display, like the SD500e and MD500e, to provide information like speed and remaining battery level. The two unreleased models have identical features but different colorways: one is black with a green accent, and the other is beige with an orange accent.
It is unclear when these new Decathlon Btwin e-scooters will launch or how much they will cost. Based on the feature set shown in the images, these will likely be more expensive than the older Btwin SD500e and MD500e scooters, which are priced at €279.99 and €349.99, respectively.
