Lidl has released the Crivit Peak 709 e-bike in two European countries. Also known as the Crivit All-Terrain Electric Bike Shimano, this is the first electric mountain bike from the brand, following earlier urban e-bikes like the Crivit X3 and the Crivit Y3.
The Crivit Peak 709 has an aluminum frame with an SR Suntour XCM34 Boost suspension fork with 130 mm travel. There is a Mivice X700 mid-mounted motor with 100Nm torque and accompanying torque sensor. Riders can choose between three modes, Eco, Tour and Race, and a Boost button increases assistance for a short time. The bike comes with a removable 709Wh battery, said to provide up to 120 km (~75 miles) of range, fully recharging in 5.5 hours.
Other features of the 10-speed bike include a Shimano Cues derailleur, Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm disc at the front and rear, and 2.4-inch Maxxis Rekon tires, 27.5-inch for the smallest size, and 29-inch for the larger sizes. Plus, there are accessories, including an LED display indicating your current assistance mode and remaining battery level, and a Fidlock water bottle base (curr. $14.89 at Amazon).
This Crivit eMTB is available in three sizes, M, L and XL, weighing between 25.8 and 26.4 kg. You can now buy the Crivit Peak 709 electric mountain bike at Lidl in France and the Czech Republic for €1,699/CZK 44,999. Whether or when this e-bike could arrive in other European countries remains to be seen.
