ENGWE is back with another new e-bike, and this one is much more of a "premium city" two-wheeler than the E26. The P275, by contrast, has a "captivating" design with a Selle Royal saddle & air-lifting seat-post in either its step-over (Pro) or step-through (St) variant.
Either version of the bike still has a torque sensor though, rated for 65 newton-meters (Nm) for the P275 Pro's Bafang motor, or 70Nm for the one in the St from Ananda, each with the branded LED display to match. Both are rated for a 250W output, although ENGWE emphasizes that that allows them to get up to 260 kilometers (km) of range in pedal-assist mode, or 150km in pure electric mode, each of which has 5 levels apiece.
The P275 Pro also has a Gates carbon belt to go with its Bafang 3-level automatic gear-shift, whereas the St goes with Shimano 9-speed gears and chain instead. Either variant is estimated to weigh no more than 33 kilograms (kg, or ~73 pounds) even with its removable Samsung 19.2Ah battery, and to have a maximum payload of 120kg (264lb).
The P275 Pro will come in black or black/orange finishes, with a slightly broader choice of black, white or white/orange for the St. They will become available in the EU as new city e-bikes limited to a 25km/h top speed to start off with soon.
