Samsung insider: Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 to foreshadow the design changes of the Galaxy S25 series
2025 is still a long way off, but Samsung fans can at least expect a foretaste of the design of the Galaxy S25 generation by mid-2024. This is the subject of a recent leak by a Samsung insider on the South Korean Naver forum. Accordingly, Samsung is reportedly already moving in the direction of the Galaxy S25, i.e. the Galaxy S25 Ultra, in regard to the design of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5, which are expected in July and August 2024, respectively.
It is not yet entirely clear what we can expect, but there are some clues. As has been mentioned several times in the past, the display format of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will change: in the Galaxy Z Flip 6, the display edges of the flexible AMOLED display on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be thinner. The cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which was initially greatly enlarged, is also changing again. Despite larger displays across the board, both foldables are expected to lose weight.
Although somewhat cryptic, there are also indications of a possibly larger fold in the flex display. As always, one should take these early leaks with a grain of salt, although the current leak is definitely in line with earlier indications. Samsung will also face stronger global foldable competition for the first time in 2024, as there are already good alternatives on the market not only from Honor and Google, but also particularly in the form of the Oppo Find N3 and the OnePlus Open. Lastly, Xiaomi is also expected to launch a foldable internationally in 2024.
