Acer Nitro XV275UX: New and fast gaming monitor with USB Type C and 240 Hz

Acer is expanding its own, already extensive range of monitors with the new Acer Nitro XV275U. This is a panel with a screen diagonal of 27 inches - not an atypical size for a monitor. The resolution is 2560 x 1440 and thus promises a fairly high level of sharpness. Compared to a 4K panel, displaying at a high frame rate in native resolution is significantly less CPU-intensive.

Accordingly, the maximum refresh rate is specified as up to 240 Hz, so demanding video gamers should get their money's worth in the Acer Nitro XV275U. As stated by the manufacturer, the brightness is 300 cd/m² and the static contrast ratio 1,000:1, which corresponds to the typical values for an IPS panel. The sRGB color space is said to be covered at 99%, which should result in color-rich rendering. The gaming monitor claim is further reinforced by the support for FreeSync Premium, and the gray-to-gray response time is specified as one millisecond.

The Acer Nitro XV275U can receive image signals via two HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4. However, a USB Type C port, which can not only transmit image signals but also supply the connected device with power via USB PD, is lacking here. Two 3-watt speakers are on board, the height of the monitor can be adjusted by 110 millimeters, and the panel can be tilted and rotated. Lastly, mounting on a VESA mount is possible.
