LG has presented another UltraWide monitor, shortly after confirming EU availability for the 34WQ500-B. This time, it has showcased the UltraWide 38WR85QC-W, a business-orientated monitor that utilises a Nano IPS panel. As its name suggests, the UltraWide 38WR85QC-W measures 38-inches across and provides a 21:9 aspect ratio.
According to LG, the monitor outputs at 3,840 x 1,600 pixels, a resolution commonly referred to WQHD+ or UWQHD+. Closely related to WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600), WQHD+ is 26% shorter than conventional 4K (3,840 x 2,160). Additionally, the monitor has a 144 Hz refresh rate with 1 ms GtG response times, plus AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC support, despite not being advertised as a gaming monitor.
Moreover, the UltraWide 38WR85QC-W is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified and should hit 450 nits when viewing SDR content. LG adds that the monitor typically covers 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space too and has an ergonomic stand that provides swivel, tilt and height adjustment. While LG has not confirmed global pricing yet, Gizmochina notes that the monitor has launched in China for CNY 8,999 (~US$1,262). For reference, LG has installed the following I/O:
