LG 34WQ500-B UltraWide Monitor with AMD Freesync will shortly launch in EU
A product listing for the LG 34WQ500-B UltraWide Monitor appeared on the company's website in Germany, suggesting it will soon go on sale there. The 34-in devicem with a 21:9 Full HD IPS display and AMD FreeSync, was announced in 2022 and is already on sale in the US.
The 34WQ500-B supports VESA DisplayHDR 400 for a typical brightness of 400 cd/m² and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. The IPS display panel covers 99% of the sRGB color space for high color accuracy and a wide 178˚ viewing angle. The UltraWide screen has a 2560 x 1080 px resolution, for 33% extra display space compared to a standard FHD display. For gaming, a 1ms Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) provides a smoother image, though this cannot be used when AMD FreeSync is enabled. Plus, the gray-to-gray (GtG) response time is 5ms, and the display has a 100Hz refresh rate.
The monitor has dual integrated 7W stereo speakers with MaxxAudio and ports like a USB Type-C that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, HDMI IN and a 3.5mm audio jack. It is unclear precisely when the LG 34WQ500-B UltraWide monitor will launch in Germany or how much it will cost; as a rough idea, the model retails for US$329.99 (~€303) in the US. It also remains to be seen whether or when the display will launch in other EU countries.
