ASUS is finally selling the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP, a 24.1-inch gaming monitor that it exhibited in its current state in January during CES 2023. However, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP is actually over eighteen months in the making. For context, ASUS originally announced the monitor as the ROG Swift 500 Hz at Computex 2022 in May 2022.
Since then, the company added the option of overclocking the monitor to 540 Hz from its 500 Hz default refresh rate. Still, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP and ROG Swift 500 Hz rely upon the same Esports-TN (E-TN) panel that outputs at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Moreover, the panel offers 400 nits peak brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 0.2 ms GtG response times. Additionally, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP supports NVIDIA G-SYNC Ultra Low Motion Blur 2 (ULMB 2), a motion blur reduction technology that delivers 'over 2000 Hz of Effective Motion Clarity'.
Please note that TN panels have comparatively poor viewing angles. In this case, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP provides 170°/160° viewing angles. Currently, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP sells for US$899.99 in the US. By contrast, ASUS has already discounted the monitor from its €1,349.90 MSRP in the Eurozone to €1,046.90, a 22% saving. For reference, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP features the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC)
- 2x HDMI 2.0
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
