ASUS has introduced the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP, one of several gaming monitors that it has unveiled during CES 2023. While the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP is new, it has its origins in another monitor that ASUS presented last May at Computex 2022. Specifically, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP is the retail version of the ROG Swift 500 Hz, albeit with a few tweaks.
On the one hand, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP has a revised stand design; the orange accent from the ROG Swift 500 Hz has gone, for example. Additionally, ASUS has equipped the former with adjustable stand arms. According to the company, the design allows people to use a wide base for support or a narrower stance for bringing your keyboard and mouse close to the display when gaming.
On the other hand, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP can operate even faster the ROG Swift 500 Hz, thanks to a new Esports TN (E-TN) panel. Although 500 Hz is faster than almost any other gaming monitor, the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP peaks at 540 Hz, an 8% overclock. The ROG Swift Pro PG248QP remains a 24.1-inch gaming monitor though and continues to operate at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Unsurprisingly, the monitor also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC to minimise image tearing and NVIDIA Reflex Analyser to assess system latency.
The ROG Swift Pro PG248QP supports the ESS codec as well for decreasing audio latency, courtesy of a quad DAC. Unfortunately, ASUS has not confirmed how much the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP will cost. However, the monitor should be available from Q2 2023 in some markets.
