The ROG Swift Pro PG248QP may be ASUS' fastest monitor to date, but the ROG Swift PG32UQXR may be more tempting to those who value more than bleeding-edge frame rates. While the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP peaks at 540 Hz, the ROG Swift PG32UQXR manages a more modest 160 Hz. However, the latter also operates at 4K (3,840 x 2,160) in a 16:9 aspect ratio, compared to 1080p in the case of the ROG Swift Pro PG248QP. Also, the ROG Swift PG32UQXR is the larger of the two at 32-inches across.
Additionally, the latter utilises 576 Mini LED backlight zones to deliver up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness. ASUS adds that the ROG Swift PG32UQXR targets 'the demanding requirements' of VESA DisplayHDR 1000, albeit without guaranteeing that the monitor will receive this certification in time for release. Still, the monitor should be extremely colour accurate, with 95% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and Delta E <2 factory-calibrated colour deviations.
Moreover, the ROG Swift PG32UQXR has twin DisplayPort 2.1 for up to 80 Gbps bandwidth per port. TFT Central notes that the monitor may not require that full bandwidth though, while ASUS itself caveats that most people may not notice the lossless experience that DisplayPort 2.1 provides. The ROG Swift PG32UQXR has two HDMI 2.1 ports and a USB hub too, although ASUS has not provided details on either yet. Unfortunately, the same goes for pricing and availability, which we imagine that ASUS will announce at a subsequent trade show like Computex.
