Roborock has refreshed its flagship robot vacuum series, with the Roborock S8 series arriving practically a year to the day after the Roborock S7 MaxV series. While the former serves as the latter's direct replacement, there is no Roborock S8 MaxV or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. Instead, the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra tops the Roborock S8 series.
At the heart of all Roborock S8 models is a motor that delivers 6,000 Pa of suction, up from the 5,100 Pa that the S7 MaxV series delivers. Roborock has also included a new double rubber roller brush designed to pick up more dirt than earlier iterations while tangling less hair. With that in mind, the S8 Pro Ultra raises its brush by 6 mm in mop-only mode to prevent dirt transfer when mopping.
Additionally, Roborock has integrated a new version of its VibraRise mopping system, although VibraRise 2.0 is an S8 Pro Ultra exclusive feature. All VibraRise versions operate at up to 3,000 times per minute across the Roborock S8 range, though. Moreover, the new RoboDock can dry a robot vacuum's mopping pad to prevent mildew and bacterial growth.
The Roborock S8 series will be available from March in Eurozone and will start at €699 for the Roborock S8. Alternatively, the Roborock S8 Plus will be available for €899, which adds a docking station. Finally, the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra costs €1,499. By contrast, Roborock will begin selling the Roborock S8 series a month later in the US from US$749.
