CES 2023 | Samsung The Premiere 8K ultra-short throw laser projector with 150-in image arrives
Samsung has announced The Premiere 8K laser projector at CES 2023. This new device follows The Premiere 4K projector, which the company unveiled in 2020. As its name suggests, the latest ultra-short throw projector has an 8K resolution. It is worth noting that there is little in the way of 8K content currently available via streaming services; YouTube is one of the leading platforms for videos of this quality. The company recommends a maximum projection size of 150-in (~381 cm). Other details, such as the product's design, peak brightness and built-in technologies, have yet to be announced.
For context, Samsung's 130-in (~330 cm) The Premiere 4K ultra short throw laser projector has up to 2,800 ANSI lumens brightness with triple laser technology. The device supports HDR10+ and comes with tools like Filmmaker Mode. The gadget is equipped with integrated 40 W speakers to deliver a 4.2 channel sound experience, with an Acoustic Beam making the audio more immersive. You can also control the gadget with voice assistants such as Bixby, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
The Samsung The Premiere 4K projector currently retails for US$6,499.99. Samsung has confirmed that The Premiere 8K will be available in countries such as the US, UK and Australia later this year. However, the exact release date and pricing are unconfirmed.
