AOC AGON PRO PD49: New Porsche Design curved gaming monitor launches with QD-OLED panel and 240 Hz refresh rate
AOC has now revealed the AGON PRO PD49, a curved gaming monitor created in collaboration with Porsche Design. To recap, iF Design showcased the monitor in late November, albeit with a few errors. As an earlier National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) listing suggested, AOC has based the AGON PRO PD49 around an OLED panel and not a VA equivalent, as iF Design suggested.
Specifically, the AGON PRO PD49 utilises a QD-OLED panel that measures 49-inches across. Thus, it appears that AOC has sourced the same Samsung Display panel found in the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) and the RedMagic Realm. Additionally, this also means that the AGON PRO PD49 outputs at 5,120 x 1,440 pixels with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms response times (GtG).
Moreover, the 1800R monitor delivers up to 1,000 nits peak brightness and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified. Furthermore, the AGON PRO PD49 lacks the pop-up webcam that features in iF Design's pictures. Instead, AOC has included the following I/O:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 2x 8 W speakers
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 1x RJ45 (2.5 Gigabit)
- 4x USB 3.2 Type-A downstream
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C (KVM compatible)
The AGON PRO PD49 is available in Porsche Design stores, on the company's website and through 'specialist retailers'. However, AOC will not stock the monitor itself. At launch, Porsche Design has priced the AGON PRO PD49 at £1,950 in the UK and €2,199 in the Eurozone.
