Redmi Note 13 Pro to launch with new Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset as Xiaomi boasts of Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus camera superiority over Honor 90
Xiaomi continues to tease the Redmi Note 13 series on Chinese social media ahead of next week's launch event. To recap, the company previously showcased designs of the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus while also confirming its intentions to release a presumably cheaper Redmi Note 13 5G. Prior to that, it outlined that the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus would rely upon a Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset paired with a customised ISOCELL HP3 Discovery Edition primary camera sensor.
Now, it has shared a few camera samples designed to highlight the device's versatile camera setup. Supposedly, the ISOCELL HP3 Discovery Edition allows the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus to deliver 2x and 4x in-sensor zoom, which equates to 46 mm and 92 mm equivalent focal lengths. Moreover, Xiaomi boasts that the exclusive Discovery Edition delivers superior fine details compared to the standard ISOCELL HP3 in the Honor 90 and Honor 90 Pro.
While it remains to be seen whether this is accurate, it is surprising to see Xiaomi call out Honor in this regard. Separately, Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Redmi Note 13 Pro will utilise the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, a new 4 nm chipset that Qualcomm announced today. Presumably, the new Snapdragon 7 series chipset is less powerful than the Dimensity 7200 Ultra, given Xiaomi's product segmentation decisions. Although Xiaomi has not confirmed this yet, Qualcomm's product brief implies that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is a lesser alternative to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 as well.
