Motorola has now presented the Edge 40 Neo in Europe, a new mid-range smartphone that combines a 144 Hz pOLED display with a 5,000 mAh battery and a Dimensity 7030 chipset. The Edge 40 Neo is already orderable in Europe, where it carries a €399 MSRP.

Motorola has finally launched the Edge 40 Neo, an IP68-certified handset that it positions as a cheaper alternative to the Edge 40. In some respects, the pair are similar devices, not least when it comes to their design. Additionally, Motorola equips the Edge 40 Neo with a 6.55-inch pOLED display, another trait shared with the Edge 40.

Likewise, the mid-sized display output at 1080p with a 144 Hz refresh rate. However, Motorola has boosted peak brightness to 1,300 nits for the Edge 40 Neo, 100 nits brighter than the Edge 40. Moreover, the former relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 7030, a 6 nm SoC with ARM Cortex-A55 and Cortex-A78 cores that is slightly slower than the Dimensity 1080 powering the Edge 40. For reference, Motorola complements the mid-range chipset with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, plus a 5,000 mAh battery that can recharge at 68 W via USB Type-C.

Thus, it should only take the Edge 40 Neo roughly 15 minutes to ascend from 0% to 50% charge. Furthermore, Motorola has equipped the handset with a 32 MP front-facing camera, as well as a 50 MP primary (f/1.5) camera with OIS and a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera that has a 120-degree FoV and supports macro mode. The Edge 40 Neo is available to order now in the Eurozone for €399 in three Pantone colour options. Hence, the Edge 40 Neo is €200 cheaper than the Edge 40 in the Eurozone. Motorola also plans to launch the handset in India, commencing September 21.
