Blackview unveils A96 MediaTek Helio G99-powered Android 13 smartphone
The ubiquitous MediaTek Helio G99 SoC is back in another device for the budget-conscious consumer, namely the Blackview A96. This 6.5-inch Android 13 smartphone is scheduled to launch via AliExpress next week for introductory prices starting at US$169.99.
The Blackview A96 will be available in two hardware configurations. The first, with an early bird price of US$169.99, features 8 GB of memory, while the second comes with 12 GB for just US$10 more, and both feature 256 GB of internal storage space, which should be more than enough for most users. The 6.5-inch IPS display with 1,080 X 2,400 pixels has a 120 Hz dynamic refresh rate and carries the TÜV SÜD Low Blue Light Certification.
In the camera department, the Blackview A96 sports a 16 MP selfie shooter and a trio of 48 + 8 + 2 MP on the back, all with ArcSoft 6.0 image processing algorithms. The dual Smart-PA speakers are tuned by Harman AudioEFX.
The software environment consists of Blackview's Android 13-based DokeOS 3.1 with improved customization, ease of use, privacy, and fluidity. The 4,380 mAh battery only comes with 18 W fast charging and provides up to 504 hours of standby, according to Blackview.
This handset will be available for the early bird prices mentioned earlier on AliExpress. The first 100 orders will also get a pair of AirBuds 6 for free.
