Liliputing has shared new information about MINISFORUM's first 2-in-1, the name of which is still unknown. Reportedly, MINISFORUM has now outlined a few display details that it elected against revealing during last month's teaser. According to Liliputing, MINISFORUM 2-in-1 has a 14-inch display with a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel native resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate.
In other words, MINISFORUM's effort has a lower resolution panel than recent Surface Pro models, albeit with a faster refresh rate. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether the display supports adaptive refresh rates to minimise power consumption. Also, the display has a 16:10 aspect ratio, which will make the device shorter but wider than something like the Surface Pro 9.
Theoretically, MINISFORUM's 2-in-1 could be closer in size to the MacBook Pro 14 at 312.6 mm wide and 221.2 mm deep, albeit likely without its 15.5 mm chassis thickness. Reportedly, the display will support pressure-sensitive styluses via Microsoft Protocol 2.0 as well. Supposedly, MINISFORUM is even testing the possibility of including a DisplayPort input, for which it will presumably need to write custom firmware for the 2-in-1 to accept video inputs. MINISFORUM has plenty of other details to confirm though, having previously outlined that the 2-in-1 will utilise AMD Ryzen 7040U or newer APUs.
