Infinix has announced that the Note 30 5G's upcoming limited edition will be the first Android smartphone to rock its new 3D Lighting Leather material. It consists of vegan leather specially engineered to allow LEDs to shine through it from below. The resulting effect is touted to rival Nothing's Glyph system as a unique alert delivery method.

Apple has announced the invention of "matte, textured" rear panels and brushed-metal frames for iPhones with the launch of their new, titanium-reinforced 15 Pro-series variants. Infinix, however, now purports to have (literally) outshone the Cupertino giant in terms of unique finish options with its new 3D Lighting Leather.

It consists of a "translucent" TPU leather-like material laid over additional layers such as transparent fiberglass and a light-guide film to allow the LEDs placed beneath the resulting composite material to be visible through it.

That is good to know when faced with what looks like an increasingly common vegan leather rear panel that suddenly lights up in parts. Infinix hints that it has been designed to rival similar on-device light-shows such as the Nothing Phone (2)'s Glyph panel or Realme GT5's Halo LED for distinctive notification effects - and possibly in RGB, too.

3D Lighting Leather is now set to debut in a new VIP Edition of the Dimensity 8050-powered, FHD+ 120Hz display-equipped Note 30 5G (now available for INR 16,800 (~US$203) on Amazon.in) soon.
