Infinix Note 30 VIP Racing Edition launches with new LED leather effect and BMW Group tie-in

Infinix touts its new Note 30 VIP Racing Edition as the Android smartphone for motorsport fans - although iQOO might have something to say about that. Nevertheless, the OEM has secured a new brand partnership with Designworks from the BMW Group to produce this new themed version.

It has given the Note 30 5G a new red color for its camera rings and metallic frame, the latter of which bears a "Sound by JBL" logo to highlight its additional audio collaboration. Those accents might be overshadowed by the rest of the Racing Edition's new rear panel, however.

It is indeed Infinix' first implementation of its new 3D Lighting Leather technology, which has been deployed in the form of 3 strips distributed down the length of the Racing Edition's back, in colors that reflect BMW's signature livery.

The LEDs are rated to shine through the vegan leather's grain to signify notifications and alerts in a way that evinces "a digital racing dashboard". Furthermore, the rest of the rear panel features a stylish raised insert with an interesting checkered-flag pattern.

Otherwise, however, the smartphone has the same specs as a standard Note 30 - although this does mean it will ship with a 120Hz display powered by the Dimensity 8050 SoC, a 108MP main camera, 68W charging and 50W wireless charging. Infinix has given its new limited edition a global launch, but has yet to reveal where it will be available first and how much it will cost.
