Infinix Smart 8 Pro makes global debut as faux-Dynamic Island Android smartphone
Infinix has yet to outline pricing for the Smart 8 Pro, although it has indicated that it will be available to customers in a wide range markets from Nigeria to Pakistan and the Philippines - but not India, mostly because it is already available there as the Smart 8.
Indeed, the only difference between it and the so-called "Pro" is that the latter is slated to come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, whereas the Indian version is currently available as a 4GB/64GB device with a recommended price of INR 8,999 on Amazon.in.
The 2 devices have the exact same specs otherwise, however, right down to the Helio G36 platform to drive a flat 6.6-inch 90Hz HD+ "Magic Ring" LCD display. The 'new' Infinix smartphone also challenges the Realme C53 with a camera hump that just happens to resemble that of a flagship iPhone, although one of the 'lenses' actually houses a ring-flash.
By any name, the 8 Pro also still boasts DTS-enhanced "200% Super Volume" audio and a still-respectable 5,000mAh battery (although it falls behind with super-slow 10W charging). Then again, its XOS 13 UI is based on the Go version of Android 13, despite also laying claim to a RAM Expansion feature for its apparently upgraded RAM.
