Infinix' latest INBook-series laptop has hit the Indian market with a metallic unibody design and Windows 11. The Y2 Plus offers HDMI and USB-C charging for ~$420 or less on its new retail platform. Then again, it is also powered by increasingly last-gen Intel platforms and could have a better display on paper.

The Indian market has a new laptop courtesy of Infinix, in the form of the new INBook Y2 Plus. The PC has an ultrabook form-factor touted to "enhance your productivity even when travelling". To this end, a "large" 15.6-inch display is included, although this is where the new Y-series PC's appeal begins to fall apart somewhat.

The panel is listed as FHD, although Infinix also concedes that it is rated for 260 nits of brightness at most. It does con cover the sRGB color gamut, though - 83% of it, to be exact. The INBook Y2 Plus does have an 512GB SSD, although its RAM only goes up to 16GB in its top-end SKU.

On that note, it is restricted to Tiger Lake power , with a Core i5-1155G7 processor to the base model's i3-1115G4 platform. In addition, while it has a USB-C port for charging, it is described as 45W, whereas even its i3-1005G1-powered Y1 Plus predecessor is rated to manage 65W.

Then again, the Y2 Plus might win in terms of style with a backlit keyboard and the option of coming in blue as well as gray or silver. It has launched at INR 27,490 (~$331) with 8GB of RAM and the i3 CPU, or for INR 34,990 (~$331) as the only other 16GB/i5-1155G7 option on Flipkart.
