Infinix 260 W GaN charger fully juices a phone battery in only 7.5 minutes
Infinix has revealed more info regarding its upcoming 260 W charger. Thanks to a proprietary All-Round FastCharge protocol combined with a GaN-based charger and an innovative 13A charging cable, Infinix is able to break the 240 W limit imposed on USB cables with the PD revision 3.1 in order to reach 260 W total capacity. A 4,400 mAh smartphone battery for example can be charged from 0% to 25% in 1 minute, while a full charge only takes 7.5 minutes. The charger also includes a wireless base with dual-coil design and 110 W capacity, which fully charges a battery in 16 minutes.
Additional protection mechanisms are included with the charger to allow batteries to maintain energy storing efficiency for an extended period of time. Infinix claims that batteries can thus retain 90% of their original energy storing capacity even after 1,000 charging cycles. No less than 140 protection mechanisms and 20 temperature sensors are integrated in the charger. The wireless base can be used horizontally or vertically and comes with a fan to keep the back of the charging device cool.
The 260 W charger is expected to launch with Infinix’s next gen Note flagship smartphone some time in the second half of 2023.
