Alleged release details for the Xperia 1 V have surfaced online. Reputedly, Sony's next flagship smartphone will arrive in as little as two months' time, although the Xperia 1 V may be unavailable until the summer in some markets.

Sumahodigest claims to have stumbled across rumoured release details for the Xperia 1 V, Sony's next flagship smartphone. Please note that the leaked release information comes from the same source that shared a reputed hands-on image of the Xperia 1 V that could well have been manipulated. As such, we would recommend employing a healthy amount of scepticism for now.

According to the website, there will be no protracted launch cycle for this year's Xperia 1, as there was for the Xperia 1 III and the Xperia 5 III. For reference, while Sony announced the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III in April 2021, it took until August for the former to be available, while Sony waited for October before releasing the latter.

In comparison, the Xperia 1 IV debuted in mid-May and reached shelves a month later. Purportedly, its successor will follow the same release schedule with a May announcement targeted for now. However, the device's actual release date could be June or July, depending on the region. It remains to be seen whether Sony will unveil the Xperia 5 V alongside the Xperia 1 V though, with Sony electing to hold off until September 2022 before revealing the Xperia 5 IV.
