MagyarInfinix Smart 8 copies Dynamic Island and camera layout of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro
The new Infinix Smart 8 combines the hardware of an entry-level smartphone with a design that is more than a little reminiscent of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro. The 8 MP punch-hole front camera is surrounded by the so-called "Magic Ring", which can display information such as current calls or charging processes in a similar way to Apple's Dynamic Island.
The display, frame and back are flat, just like the iPhone 15 Pro, and the positioning and layout of the camera module also correspond to the model from Cupertino, although the module is even larger on the Infinix Smart 8. The sheer size is only decorative, as Infinix only installs a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP sensor and an LED flash. Inside is a MediaTek Helio G36, a 12 nm entry-level chip from 2023 that has eight ARM Cortex-A53 efficiency cores with clock frequencies of up to 2.2 GHz.
It also has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash storage, which can be expanded via microSD memory card. The 6.6-inch LCD reaches a frame rate of 90 Hz, while the maximum brightness is relatively low at 500 nits. A 5000 mAh battery, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a USB-C port complete the features of the affordable Infinix Smart 8. The manufacturer has not provided any information about possible fast charging, so the device probably only charges with 10 watts.
Price and availability
The Infinix Smart 8 is available in India for INR 7499 (approx. $90). As is usual with Infinix, the device will probably only be available outside India via direct import.
