Motorola Moto G Play 2024 readies itself with modernised design and 50 MP camera
Motorola has updated the Moto G Play for 2024, shortly after leaks relating to it and the Moto G Stylus 2024 surfaced online. As expected, the Moto G Play 2024 features a redesigned exterior with a flat frame, trimmed-down bezels and a subtler camera housing. Ultimately, the Moto G Play remains an affordable mid-range smartphone with specifications to match.
On the one hand, the Moto G Play 2024 offers the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, a 6 nm and octa-core chipset with four Cortex-A73 and four Cortex-A53 CPU cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and 1.8 GHz, respectively. Additionally, Motorola has included 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, as well as a MicroSD card reader for adding more storage. Moreover, the handset possesses a 5,000 mAh battery that can recharge at 15 W only through a wired connection.
On the other hand, the Moto G Play 2024 has a 6.5-inch IPS display that delivers 500 nits peak brightness with a 1,600 x 720-pixel resolution, a 90 Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Furthermore, the handset comes with a 50 MP primary camera lacking OIS and an 8 MP front-facing sensor, all within a 163.82 x 74.96 x 8.29 mm and 185 g housing. Unlike the Moto G34, the Moto G Play 2024 ships with Android 13 and will be available from February for $150 in a Sapphire Blue finish.
