The well-known vlogger Lewis Hilsenteger of UnboxTherapy has received what, on first glance, could be a 15 Pro that folds in half. It seems to hint at a cover display and a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5-like build. However, on closer inspection, the device has none of the specs or features one might hope for in a first-gen clamshell flexible-display iPhone.

Unbox Therapy has a track record of acquiring dummy units that have proven accurate enough prior to the launch of the new handsets in question, and seemed to have received a new and particularly cutting-edge model for its latest video. Then again, if Lewis Hilsenteger had even really hoped for a sign of a new type of iPhone, it quickly turned out to be nothing of the sort.

The device may have seemed to hint that the first-gen foldable iPhone would not be all that far away from launch, exhibiting as it did a triple rear camera hump quite like that of the brand-new 15 Pro or Pro Max. However, any vestige of illusion was subsequently abruptly shattered on opening and activating the device, which revealed it to be nothing more than a cheap feature phone merely styled to look like a new Apple flagship from the back.

Nevertheless, it might come as a relief to find that a 'real' flexible-display iPhone would be unlikely to have such a low-quality hinge, not to mention a fake "cover display" that, being only about the same size as the camera island, would look weedy in comparison to those of some Android OEMs, particularly Motorola and OPPO, at this stage.
