Xiaomi debuts HyperOS 2.0 and details rollout plans slated for three batches
While the release of the Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 7 tablets may dominate today's headlines, the company has also announced HyperOS 2.0 as the latest iteration of the software skin for its ecosystem. HyperOS debuted as a replacement for MIUI a year ago alongside the Xiaomi 14 series, and Xiaomi will be hoping to iron out the kinks in its software with the just-announced version.
As is trendy at the moment, HyperOS 2.0 mostly seems to deliver AI improvements over its predecessor, with features such as AI Writing, AI Subtitles, AI Paintings, AI Sound Recognition, AI anti-fraud, AI Translations, and a slew of others in the same vein. Most interesting, however, is Xiaomi HyperConnect—which is touted as offering seamless file transfer between Xiaomi and Apple devices.
As for Xiaomi's rollout plans for HyperOS 2.0 in China, the company has confirmed that its new devices will ship with the new software. That list includes the Xiaomi 15 series, Xiaomi Pad 7 series, Xiaomi TV S Pro 2025, Xiaomi Watch S4, and the new Mi Band 9. The first rollout batch to existing models will begin in November, however, with the Xiaomi 14 series, Mix Fold 4, Mix Flip, and Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro (buy on Amazon) listed as the first devices on the list.
The second batch of rollout begins in December, with the Xiaomi 13 series, Civi 4 Pro, Redmi K60 series, Redmi Note 14 series, Pad 6 Pro and Pad 6 Max, Redmi Pad Pro, Redmi Pad Pro 5G, and Redmi Pad SE. The third batch of the rollout is billed for the first half of 2025 and will see devices like the Xiaomi 12S series, Xiaomi 12 series, Mix Fold 2, Civi 3, Redmi K50 series, Redmi Note 13 series, Redmi Note 12 series, Redmi Note 11T Pro, Redmi 14 series, Redmi 13 series, and Redmi 12 series all receive the HyperOS 2.0 OTA.
