Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro debut as reasonably priced sub-premium tablets
The Xiaomi Pad 7 series is finally here. Xiaomi has now unveiled its latest tablets alongside the Xiaomi 15 series in China. Interestingly, the new tablets do not arrive as Xiaomi's flagship models in the segment, with that title still belonging to the Pad 6S Pro that debuted much earlier in the year.
The vanilla Xiaomi Pad 7 sports an 11.2-inch 144 Hz LCD screen with a peak brightness of 800 nits. Beneath the hood sits a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, aided by up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Other specs include a 13 MP main camera, an 8 MP selfie camera, an 8850 mAh battery with 45 W fast-charging support, USB 3.2 Gen 1, quad speaker, quad mics, and Wi-Fi 6 support.
The more premium Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro shares most of the features of the standard Pad 7, including its 11.2-inch LCD screen and 8850 mAh battery. Notable changes, however, include a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, max storage of 512 GB, 67 W charging, a 50 MP main camera, and a 32 MP selfie camera.
Pricing for the Xiaomi Pad 7 series is reasonable if nothing. The standard will cost CNY 1999 ($280) when equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, CNY 2299 ($320) in 8/256 GB guise, and CNY 2599 ($365) for the top-spec 12/256 GB model. The Pad 7 Pro starts at CNY 2499 ($350) for the 8/128 GB spec, CNY 2799 ($390) for the 8/256 GB model, CNY 3099 ($435) for the 12/256 GB SKU, and a nice CNY 3499 ($490) for the line-leading 12/512 GB configuration.
According to word on the grapevine, Xiaomi has other tablets in the works. Said tablets are tipped to feature OLED screens—a first for the company—and will be the true successors to the Pad 6S Pro. We'll be sure to keep you updated on that.
