After releasing the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra and Pad 7S Pro featuring its new, in-house XRing-O1 chipset, it appears Xiaomi has yet another premium tablet in the works, with this one set to launch later in the year.
As shared by Kartikey Singh on X, Xiaomi is readying a new tablet to launch alongside the Xiaomi 16 series. The Xiaomi 16 series is widely expected to debut in late September, potentially right after the release of Qualcomm's next-gen flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
According to the leaker, the new tablet will launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite—effectively a last-gen chipset at the time of the tablet's release. It's unclear what this tablet will be branded as, but it seems likely that it could launch as the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, a direct successor to last year's Pad 7 Pro. That tablet features a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, so a Snapdragon 8 Elite would be a significant jump in performance across generations.
