Xiaomi has recently launched the first wave of devices powered by the Xring O1 SoC, and the Pad 7 Ultra is one of them. While the flagship tablet is a proper competitor to tabs that feature Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400, the company doesn't have plans to launch it in the global market.
However, international buyers who are comfortable with importing China-exclusive devices can purchase the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra from Giztop. On the website, the new flagship tablet starts at $999, which is the tag for the base variant with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The top-end config with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB storage, on the other hand, is going for $1,199. The tablet is also available on TradingShenzhen, starting at $978.44 or €867.
In comparison, the base config launched in China with a starting price of CNY 5,699, which is around $791. As for the top-end configuration of the Pad 7 Ultra, it launched at CNY 7,399, about $1027. So, the prices on Giztop and TradingShenzhen aren't half-bad, but there are some things to consider before importing China-exclusive devices.
For example, while there will be support for the English language, the Chinese Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra will come pre-loaded with some China-specific apps. Then, there's the difference in terms of the firmware, and the Chinese version of HyperOS doesn't usually come with Google services out of the box.
Another crucial thing to note is the warranty, and while Giztop and TradingShenzhen seem to have a decent policy about it, it's not as convenient as claiming the official warranty. As for the tablet itself, besides the Xring O1, the Pad 7 Ultra comes with a 14-inch AMOLED display, a 50 MP rear camera, and a large 12,000 mAh battery with support for 120 W fast charging (140 W Anker 737 24K power bank curr. $109.99 on Amazon).
