The Infinix Xpad GT has made its official debut in Malaysia. At the core, it's an affordable gaming tablet powered by the Snapdragon 888, the same flagship SoC that powered high-end phones from 2021. While it's an old SoC, the Adreno 660 GPU inside appears to be still capable of handling modern mobile games.
As Infinix highlights, the Xpad GT can run PUBG at 90 FPS, Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends at 120 FPS, and Standoff 2 at 144 FPS. Of course, the company didn't specify at which visual settings the games were tested to get these numbers, but the Snapdragon 888 is also known for being a decent SoC for emulating games.
Infinix adds that the SoC is paired with a large vapor cooling chamber for stable gaming performance. Currently, it seems that the gaming tablet is available in only one configuration, which pairs the Snapdragon 888 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
Besides that, the Xpad GT features a 13-inch display with a resolution of 1840x2880 pixels and 144 Hz refresh rate. The screen supports HDR10, and Infinix claims that the device sports an 89.5% screen-to-body ratio.
Another highlight of the new gaming tablet is the 8-speaker sound system. It's said to deliver immersive audio with the DTS 3D sound tech. A 10,000 mAh battery powers the internals of the Xpad GT, and it has support for 33 W fast charging (140 W Anker 737 24K power bank curr. $109.99 on Amazon).
Other highlights of the gaming tablet include support for a keyboard and stylus, an all-metal body that's 6.5 mm thick, and Infinix AI. The Xpad GT launched in Malaysia with a pre-order price tag of MYR 1,699, which is around $402. Infinix hasn't disclosed anything about global availability yet.
