The iQOO Pad 5 and iQOO Pad 5 Pro have been announced in China as the newest tablets from Vivo's iQOO brand. The new tablets are positioned as both entertainment and productivity devices with their large high-refresh rate LCD panels, flagship MediaTek processors, and advanced cooling technology.
iQOO Pad 5
The iQOO Pad 5 is the smaller of the two tablets with a 12.1-inch 2.8K (2800 x 1968) display. The screen has a peak brightness of 900 nits and a 144Hz refresh rate. Powered by the Dimensity 9300+ processor, the iQOO Pad 5 has up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
The tablet also has a 5MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear camera, a six-speaker system, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, and runs a version of OriginOS 5 customized for tablets. The iQOO Pad 5 can be used as a second display for a Windows PC or Mac or as a remote desktop to access your computer when away.
The iQOO Pad 5 has a 10,000mAh battery with support for 44W fast wired charging. iQOO says the Pad 5 has a three-dimensional cooling system with a 34200 mm² cooling plate. The tablet comes in green, silver, and gray, and will be available to buy in four configurations:
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage = CNY 2399 (~$332/€294)
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage = CNY 2799 (~$388/€343)
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage = CNY 3099 (~$429/€380)
- 16GB RAM + 512GB storage = CNY 3499 (~$485/€429)
iQOO Pad 5 Pro
On the other hand, the Pad 5 Pro has a larger 13-inch 3.1K (3096 x 2064) display. It also has a 144Hz refresh rate and boasts all of the eye protection features available on the standard model. It not only earns the 'pro' suffix with its size but also its processor which is MediaTek's Dimensity 9400+. It is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Unfortunately, there's no MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
The iQOO Pad 5 Pro has an 8MP front-facing camera and a 13MP rear camera. It also has eight speakers for a theater-like experience when watching movies or TV shows and playing games. Like the standard model, it lacks a fingerprint scanner but has face unlock. It misses out on an audio jack but there's support for USB-C audio.
Underneath the 6.07mm thick body is a massive 12,050mAh battery which dwarfs the 10,090mAh battery inside the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ (available on Amazon for $649.99) which has a 13.1-inch display. The iQOO Pad 5 Pro charges faster than the standard model at 66W and also has a larger 40,600mm2 cooling plate.
Both tablets have support for a stylus and are compatible with the new iQOO Pencil3 stylus which has 16,384 levels of pressure sensitivity. There is also an optional keyboard case with a trackpad that connects via pogo pins on the back of the tablets as well as a regular magnetic case.
The iQOO Pad 5 Pro will also be available in four configurations:
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage = CNY 3199 (~$443/€392)
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage = CNY 3499 (~$485/€429)
- 12GB RAM + 512GB storage = CNY 3799 (~$526/€466)
- 16GB RAM + 512GB storage = CNY 3999 (~$554/€490)
The iQOO Pad 5's keyboard case will sell for CNY 599 (~$83/€73) while the keyboard case for the Pad 5 Pro will cost CNY 699 (~$97/€86). The magnetic case for both models will be available for CNY 199 (~$28/€24) while the iQOO Pencil 3 stylus will sell for CNY 499 (~$69/€61).
