Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version predicted to launch with Apple A18 Pro-beating performance
Qualcomm's world-first Oryon Prime cores for mobile have reportedly already propelled the Snapdragon 8 Elite to the top of the AnTuTu charts in the upcoming iQOO 13 with a new top speed of 4.32GHz.
However, there is now word of an even faster version of the same SoC out there - and it's not the rumored 8 Elite for Galaxy variant.
This new version is tipped to be even faster, with Prime cores that go all the way to 4.57GHz, according to veteran tipster Digital Chat Station. Therefore, it might launch as a successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version.
The corresponding version of the 8 Elite is now touted as the one to finally beat Apple's A18 Pro in both CPU and GPU terms, and has allegedly made a start with an iPhone 16 Pro-equalling Geekbench single-core score of ~3,400.
However, should that be the case, the "Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version" might not be here until 2025. There are hints that it will debut in a smartphone with a super-sized 7-inch screen and "active cooling" - much like a certain allegedly upcoming flagship from gaming-focused brand RedMagic.
