Insider reveals a new entry-level iPad is expected to arrive in 2025
While Apple announced new iPad Pro, iPad Air, and a new iPad mini this year, it hasn't refreshed the entry-level iPad in two years, but that may change soon as latest reports say a new model will arrive next year.
In the latest version of his weekly newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has revealed that Apple is far into the development of a new entry-level iPad model which should launch as the iPad (11th Gen). According to him, the upcoming iPad, which is codenamed J481 and J482, will largely retain the design of the 2022 model which has uniform but thick bezels and a single rear camera.
However, the upcoming iPad will get a speed boost which hints at a more powerful chipset than the aging A14 Bionic inside the 2022 model. While it is not expected to be powered by the Apple A18, the chip inside the new iPhone 16, Apple will likely want to equip it with a chipset that is compatible with Apple Intelligence.
Mark Gurman has revealed that the iPad (11th Gen) or iPad 11 will arrive next spring alongside a new iPhone SE and new iPad Air models. With respect to price, it is not known how much it will cost. The iPad (10th Gen) (curr. available on Amazon for $298) received a price cut and now starts at $349 instead of $449. The new model will probably not cost less than $400.
