VX2700-4K-PRO: ViewSonic announces new 4K Mini LED gaming monitor with 165 Hz refresh rate
ViewSonic has presented another Mini LED-backed gaming monitor, albeit in a smaller panel size than the 32-inch XG321UG (curr. $2,210.99 on Amazon) that it already sells. Specifically, the VX2700-4K-PRO utilises 1,152 local dimming zones, within which sit 4,068 Mini LEDs. As a result, the monitor is said to offer high peak brightness values when viewing SDR or HDR content and is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified.
According to ViewSonic, the 27-inch IPS panel should reach 500 nits with SDR content activated but 1,000 nits in some areas when HDR mode is activated. Additionally, the VX2700-4K-PRO has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and is colour-accurate enough to cover 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Moreover, the monitor combines a 4K (3,840 x 2,160) native resolution with a 165 Hz refresh rate, which is complemented by 1 ms GtG response times.
For reference, ViewSonic reports that the VX2700-4K-PRO supports AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC too, for mitigating image tearing when gaming at high refresh rates. On top of that, the company has included a pair of DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports, plus a USB Type-C port that offers 96 W charging and DisplayPort Alt Mode integration. Unfortunately, ViewSonic has not yet confirmed pricing or availability for China, let alone outlined the possibility of a global release.
