The M1 Pro is a monitor designed for portability. It consists of two individual displays, which can be used in different positions thanks to its 360° hinge. Finger input is supported.

The M1 Pro is very much a device for digital nomads who need the extra screen space whilst on the move. It consists of two individual displays which each measure 16 inches diagonally and have a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200. Depending on the application, this should result in significantly increased productivity. The two individual screens are connected by a hinge, which should allow flexible positioning. This makes it possible to set up the two displays horizontally - the lower screen is then held in position by a stand. Vertical positioning is also possible, which can offer advantages when working with text documents, for example - conventional monitors also offer this option, which is known as pivot mode.

The lower screen not only displays images, but also processes touch inputs. Image signals are transmitted to the screens via mini-HDMI or USB-C, but a USB cable is required for power, at least when using an HDMI connection. Two loudspeakers are installed, providing stereo sound without the need for an external sound system. The two monitors themselves are not overly powerful, only supporting a refresh rate of 60 Hz and so have been designed with general use in mind, not video gaming. The maximum brightness is specified as 250 cd/m² and the contrast ratio as 1,200:1.

The M1 Pro is priced at $369.99. Shipping is free for customers in the US. Import fees are likely to be included in the price, but there may also be a flat-rate charge from the shipping company responsible for customs clearance.

A possible alternative: Buy a portable monitor from Eviciv at Amazon.
