Gigabyte has quietly announced yet another 32-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor. While the AORUS FO32U features a 4K panel like the AORUS FO32U2 and AORUS FO32U2P, it has a 31% lower refresh rate that peaks at 165 Hz.

Gigabyte has introduced yet another 31.5-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor, having already released the AORUS FO32U2 and AORUS FO32U2P earlier this year. To recap, the AORUS FO32U2 and AORUS FO32U2P share the same underlying Gen 3 QD-OLED panel produced by Samsung Display that pairs a 4K resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate. Consequently, the pair are rivalled by many other 31.5-inch gaming monitors released this year, including from Samsung itself through the Odyssey OLED G80SD (curr. $1,199.99 on Amazon).

By contrast, the new AORUS FO32U appears to rely on a QD-OLED panel that has not been mentioned before. Specifically, Gigabyte describes the AORUS FO32U as delivering a 4K (3,840 x 2,160) native resolution and 0.03 ms GtG response times. Moreover, the monitor is rated for 250 nits SDR (APL 100%) and 1,000 nits HDR (APL 3%) peak brightnesses. Likewise, the panel also boasts 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, plus AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, VESA ClearMR 9000 and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certifications.

However, its refresh rate peaks at just 165 Hz, a 31% decrease on the AORUS FO32U2 and AORUS FO32U2P. Unfortunately, pricing and availability remain unknown for now. With that being said, we imagine that the AORUS FO32U's lower refresh rate will see it launch for less than the AORUS FO32U2 and AORUS FO32U2P, which retail for $1,099.99 and $1,199.99, respectively. For reference, the AORUS FO32U contains the following ports:

  • 1x 3.5 mm headphone jack
  • 1x 3.5 mm microphone jack
  • 1x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 2x USB 3.2 Type-A (downstream)
  • 1x USB 3.2 Type-A (upstream)
  • 1x USB Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode/Upstream/18 W Power Delivery)
